Wellbeing Trainer

We are looking for enthusiastic and engaging Wellbeing Trainers to join our team on a flexible, zero-hours basis. In this rewarding role, you will deliver evidence-based wellbeing programmes to children, young people and adults across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, helping individuals build resilience, improve mental wellbeing and develop practical life skills.

About the role:
JOB TITLE Wellbeing Trainer
SALARY £35 per hour
HOURS Flexible
CONTRACT Zero Hours
LOCATION Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, with travel across the county required.
REPORTING TO Operations Director
The Wellbeing Trainer will plan, facilitate and deliver engaging, evidence-based mental health and wellbeing programmes to children, young people and adults across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
The post holder will primarily deliver workshops and programmes within:
- Primary schools
- Secondary schools
- Alternative education settings
- Jobcentre Plus provision for NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) claimants
- Community-based settings as required
We are looking for enthusiastic and skilled facilitators who can adapt delivery to meet the needs of different audiences and create safe, supportive and engaging learning environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver mental health, emotional wellbeing, resilience and personal development programmes to groups of children, young people and adults.
- Facilitate workshops, assemblies, group sessions and training events in a professional, engaging and inclusive manner.
- Adapt teaching and facilitation styles to suit different learning needs, ages and abilities.
- Create safe and supportive environments that encourage participation and discussion.
- Deliver programmes face-to-face and online where required.
- Support participants to improve understanding of mental health, wellbeing, emotional resilience and help-seeking behaviours.
Essential criteria:
- Experience delivering workshops, training, teaching or group-based learning activities.
- Experience engaging children, young people or adults in educational or community settings.
- Experience adapting content to different audiences and learning styles.
- Experience building effective relationships with partner organisations and stakeholders.
- Experience using online platforms such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom for delivery. Adapted from the original trainer specification.
- Good understanding of mental health and emotional wellbeing.
- Knowledge of factors affecting children and young people’s mental health.
- Understanding of safeguarding principles and procedures.
- Knowledge of equality, diversity and inclusion principles.
- Understanding of confidentiality, GDPR and professional boundaries.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong group facilitation skills.
- Ability to engage diverse audiences confidently and professionally.
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Competent IT skills including Microsoft Office and online delivery platforms.
- Ability to build positive and productive relationships.
- Ability to respond calmly and appropriately to challenging situations.
- GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above.
- Evidence of relevant professional development.
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
- Access to a vehicle or reliable means of transport.
- Availability to deliver sessions during school hours and occasionally outside standard office hours.
